What a Patient Advocate Does
How many times have you left the bedside of a loved one in the hospital or a doctor’s office and wondered, “What did they just tell me? Is there something I’m not being told? What do they know that I don’t? Can I trust them? What if this doesn’t work? What should I do now?” Having a trusted resource who can gather information and ask difficult questions is necessary when trying to address complex and even simple medical issues. Having an independent healthcare representative, e.g. patient advocate, can prepare and guide you in navigating the complex healthcare system and be at your side every step of the way.
